Soil Protection

Soil Protection

Activating Youth in Sustainable Farming and Soil Protection is an Erasmus+ project coordinated by Next Level e.V. in Germany, with Association Petite Graine as the partner organisation in France. The project brings together young people from France and Germany around a shared goal: strengthening their practical knowledge, skills and civic engagement in sustainable farming, soil protection and local environmental action.

The project aims to equip young people with practical knowledge in sustainable farming and soil protection, provide opportunities to apply this learning through youth-led sustainability initiatives, and foster international collaboration between young people from Germany and France. It also promotes long-term youth engagement in sustainability by supporting participants to share their knowledge, train peers and build networks for future cooperation.

The planned activities include two international youth exchanges, five local engagement events in each country, online preparation and follow-up sessions, and dissemination actions. The project involves young people aged mainly 18 to 30 from Erfurt in Germany and Bagnères-de-Luchon / Haute-Garonne in France, with a strong focus on including participants with fewer opportunities.

Through hands-on workshops, intercultural learning, field-based activities and youth-led local projects, Soil Protection helps participants move from awareness to action. Expected results include local sustainability initiatives such as composting programmes, urban gardening and educational workshops, as well as stronger skills in project management, community leadership, youth participation and European cooperation.

The project contributes to empowering young people to understand environmental challenges, cooperate across borders and take concrete action to protect soils, biodiversity and local communities.

Project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
