Greencademy to the Next Level is an Erasmus+ KA220-YOU project that strengthens the role of young people and youth workers in the ecological transition through agroecology, non-formal education and local action.
The project starts from a clear reality: rural territories across Europe face major challenges — climate change, biodiversity loss, youth outmigration and limited local opportunities — while young people are often not placed at the centre of the solutions. Greencademy aims to change this by giving young people the tools, competences and spaces they need to imagine and implement agroecological initiatives in their own communities.
Over 18 months, the project partners will work together through several connected actions:
Strengthening youth workers’ competences
Two international training courses will support youth workers to explore agroecology, non-formal education, youth participation, community engagement and the design of local youth-led projects.
Creating open educational resources
The project will develop a multilingual pedagogical toolkit to help youth workers facilitate agroecological programmes led by young people. An online mapping tool will also showcase youth and agroecology initiatives from Europe and beyond.
Supporting local programmes
In each partner country, young people and youth workers will take part in a local co-creation programme. These programmes will test methods, develop practical activities and connect young people with local actors working in agroecology, education and territorial development.
Building bridges between territories
Online encounters, a youth exchange in France and structured dialogues with municipal stakeholders will allow participants to share experiences, discover other rural realities and strengthen the role of young people in decisions linked to the ecological transition.
In France, Association Petite Graine contributes to the project from its local context in Bagnères-de-Luchon and Occitanie. The association contributes to the toolkit, builds local alliances, hosts the co-creation meeting in France, supports the French local programme, coordinates exchange moments between initiatives and will host the youth exchange.
Greencademy is coordinated by Next Level e.V. in Germany, together with Association Petite Graine in France, LAG Vallis Colapis in Croatia and ARYAS in Romania.
Through this project, we want to contribute to a more just, participatory and locally rooted ecological transition - one where young people are not only invited to listen, but to act, experiment, create and lead their own solutions.
